Sports & Recreation

The Soperton-Treutlen Recreation Department operates and maintains over 38 acres of recreation area at two locations.  The 22 acre complex on Ballpark Road has four lighted ball fields, two lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground for young children.  The Jean Gillis Park is a 16 acre complex with a walking trail, walking track, playground, and football practice field.  The Historic David D. Gillis House is located in the park.

The Oconee and Ohoopee Rivers provide an abundance of fishing and boating opportunities within the county.  Two public boat landings can be found on the Oconee and many private landings can be found on both rivers.  Hunting clubs can found in the community and are frequently by members from all over the southeastern United States.
